FIDDLE / GUITAR / BASS / VOCALSSing along. You’re in good company.
01 / THE BAND
It started at Ferguson & Young.
Our name comes from the corner where The Corktown Pub stands. It’s where Liam joined in as a young fiddle player, and where the band’s kitchen-party tradition took shape. Today, Liam, James, and Owen keep it going with Celtic tunes, East Coast favourites, and plenty to sing along to.
FIDDLE & MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST
Liam McGlashon
Hamilton-born Liam picked up the fiddle at six while living on Prince Edward Island. He has since performed at ceilidhs, festivals, and events across the East Coast and Ontario. The founder of Ferguson Young, he also plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle, and bagpipes.
James is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose repertoire spans Irish and East Coast favourites, country, and pop-rock. Known for his distinctive voice and humour on stage, he performs both solo and with bands, including Ferguson Young.
Originally from Montreal, Owen is an original member of Ferguson Young and has played at Hamilton’s Corktown Pub for more than 20 years with a variety of bands. He was one of the first musicians Liam met after returning from Prince Edward Island. He plays bass and sings with the trio.
